Here you find hints for your literature search, be it literature which has been stocked in the library or which can be purchased or gotten from other libraries. The best searching strategy depends on whether you are after the full text of which you have the citation or whether you want literature about a topic or publications by a given author or references to work which cites a given person or ...
Then a good starting point is our journal page. It guides you to the journal pages and further on to the full text if HZB subscribes to the electronic version of the journal. Also it shows whether HZB stores a print copy of the journal article and, if the article cannot be accessed, it allows you to order a copy of the article by inter-library loan.
With some experience in journal article search you may want to turn to a data base search in Web of Science or INSPEC because there is a chance that you get to the full text there via a fast version of interlibrary loan.
In case one of the authors is from HZB the page showing publications by HZB authors may have a link to an Open Access version of the full text.
Particularly if you don't know the journal you may search for the work in one of our literature data bases.
You may want to search in our literature data bases. If you are interested in journal articles and about the "impact" of works then Web of Science is the right choice. If you want to include books and conference proceedings in your search then you need to look up INSPEC.
Books and reports which we stock at HZB can be found through the book page in the web catalogue OPAC of HZB. You may prefer though to search at first for books which are available no matter where, in the data base INSPEC or else on the pages of your favourite book seller.
If at Adlershof, you have the aditional choice of an easy access to books from the science library branch of HU.
