Video conferences, EVO, Connect Pro and support during events
For video conferencing or video telephony, we use the video conferencing service of the DFN-Verein (DFNVC). With the help of the switching systems of the DFN (MCU) can be conferred with almost all partners. Partners can participate through the MCU using SIP or ISDN devices, mobile or landline phones. You only need to tell you the scheduled conference number (a telephone number or e-mail address). These numbers are adhoc conference under https://www.vc.dfn.de/konferenzen/start.html.
For cooperation from the workplace, we offer over the DFNVC the web conferencing system Adobe Connect Pro. You need all of the following services as a camera, a microphone and speakers (or a headset), and a current web browser (eg Firefox) with Adobe Flash Player.
The web conferencing system EVO (Enabling Virtual Organizations) may HZB-LAN in the guest network and also with the video conference facilities and Skype can be used.
Skype will only exceptionally be used as a last option and only for voice and video transmission for security reasons. If possible, use personal devices connected to the guest network HZB.
FM-D provides for the larger rooms in collaboration with companies a technical care service.
To participate in video conferencing, PC-based desktop systems (eg workstations) are used.
Would you like to participate with several people in a video conference, the existing room systems, which can be booked through the reservation system (specify purpose "video conference"), are better suited.
For the initial use of room systems, we recommend a short introduction by FM-D employees. Adobe Connect Professional requires at least one participant with an special ID. Please address requests for them by e-mail to support@helmholtz-berlin.de. EVO-IDs are available for free on the webpage of EVO.
