Network

In all buildings there is a data network (LAN) available. HZB is connected to the self-organized German Research Network (DFN).

You can connect computers and other network components to this internal network to communicate with other systems either at our intranet or at the internet (also called Extranet).

We provide the following connection options:

wired network for HZB owned intranet systems
wired guest network for all other systems
wireless guest network (WLAN) in the eduroam federation and for short-term guests

For all devices on the network the rules and regulations for IT apply.

To access the HZB network from the internet, you may use the access computer display.hmi.de with Secure Shell (ssh, PuTTY), the Windows Application Farm, the HZB web server or the iFolder server.
