Personal computers
Personal computers (PC) by HZB standard use either Microsoft Windows, or the openSUSE Linux as its operating system.
There is only one operating system on each PC installed. If one need software which is unavailable on the installed system, the central Linux server or Windows Application Farm server may be used. Personal virtual Windows systems may be supplied, too.
All systems are centrally managed by the service desk, also please read the notes on data protection and security.
At HZB all PCs in the Intranet must be registered with FM-D. In our net node portal you see your assigned network nodes and can communicate changes. You can register new PCs and other net nodes online.
Non-registered and other PCs will automatically (DHCP) assigned to the HZB guest network and will not be maintained by FM-D.
