Some software is freely available (public domain, open source), some requires paid licenses. Especially for Linux, the supply of free software is great. For Windows, a large portion of the most used software packages must be purchased for each PC, usually in form of paid licenses that you have to order through the department FM-D.
If the order is completed and it is standard software, you can then install the software on your workstation using the Windows software administration. In some cases the software will be installed by FM-D for you.
The overview provides the information to the department by the FM-D support and software offered.
At HZB a representative selection of operating systems is supported.
If your specific needs are not met by the available software, you can rely on our own developments.
When it comes to experimental control and the integration of hardware, see the section NP-H22 contacts to fulfill your needs.
If you have a problem whose solution is not described in the FAQ, please use the problem query form to request the assistance of a qualified employee of the department FM-D.
