SharePoint is the name of two products from Microsoft.
The Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services (currently called Microsoft SharePoint Server) product is a web application called the virtual collaboration of groups with a common data and information storage.

For this site work or project teams may receive exclusive sub-portals. Per team, an employee for the design of this sub-portals should be responsible. All team members can edit the contents of your sub-portal, ie store files, work on them, add events, commenting and more. Who exactly what is allowed is determined by access rights.
For the security of your data a two-stage recycle bin and centralized data backup is provided.
