The Betriebssportgemeinschaft Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (formerly Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin) has organised the 13^th ATOMIADE in 2009, the great sport event of the European research institutes that takes place every three years at different European locations. For this event, all sportsmen of those research institutes were invited which are members of the Association of the Sports Communities of the European Research Institutes (ASCERI).

For this event our guests stayed in Berlin at June 12 - 15, 2009, and took part at different sports competitions.

We welcomed more than 1200 persons from 34 research institutes out of 13 countries (see the list of announced centres).

For the accommodation we occupied youth hostels and hotels**⁽*⁾ in the middle of the city.
On all three days of the stay in Berlin the evening events took place at the "Palais am Funkturm".
