Travel information

The workshop will take place in the lecture theatre at the Bessy site of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin in Berlin Adlershof, Albert-Einstein-Str. 15, 12489 Berlin

How to get there:

By car:
If you're coming from the A10 in the south, follow the A113 from Schönefelder Kreuz in the direction of Berlin Zentrum and leave at the Adlershof exit (exit no. 5).

From the north and city center, take the Stadtautobahn A100 to the interchange "Dreieck Neukölln", then follow the A113 to the south (towards Airport Schönefeld) and leave at the Adlershof exit (exit no. 5). The exit leads you directly on the "Ernst-Ruska-Ufer".

By public transport:
Due to the large distances within the city, taxi rides cost more than EUR 25.-. To get to BESSY by public transport we recommend using the S-Bahn. The nearest S-Bahn-Station is Adlershof. From there you walk 15 minutes to BESSY II, Einstein-Building.

Please note that the Berlin S-Bahn is currently running on an emergency timetable. Some of the S-Bahn lines recommended here may not be running at all, or running a restricted service, which is changing from day to day. Please check the S-Bahn website for up-to-date information

From Schönefeld Airport:
Take S-Bahn S9 (direction Spandau oder Schöneweide) to Adlershof (10 minutes), alternatively use Bus 162 (direction S-Adlershof) from the airport to the Magnusstrasse stop (10 min).

From Tegel Airport:
Take Bus X9 to Jungfernheide; change into S-Bahn 46 in the direction Königs-Wusterhausen (59 minutes, every 20 minutes); or take bus X9 from the airport in the direction Alexanderplatz to S Beusselstraße and change into Ring S41 to Frankfurter Allee, then to S8 direction Grünau or Zeuthen (56 minutes, every 20 minutes).

From Hauptbahnhof (central train station) or Ostbahnhof:
The S-Bahn S9 to Adlershof is currently only running from the S-Bahnhof Ostkreuz (two stations to the south from Ostbahnhof). Please check train or bus connections at the stations.
