Main focus of the group is the study of solar cell materials, i.e. surfaces and interfaces of chalcopyrite materials. The group participates in several projects and collaborations.
A EU-funded integrated project in which many major European groups develop thin film solar cells concerning aspects from fundamental materials understanding to module fabrication issues.
A DFG funded project with the goal to provide more understanding of the role of grain boundaries in chalcopyrite solar cell materials.
A German-wide research project with the goal to understand the limitation of the open circuit voltage of solar cells and possible approaches for its improvement.
A EU-funded project was focused on enhancing experimental techniques for 2D-charge carrier profiling in Si and III-V semiconductor devices. The project partners were from several European countries and included research groups from university, research centers and industry.
The group maintains collaborations with many international groups, regarding topics like solar cell materials, AFM and KPFM.
