solid phase crystallization (SPC)

Amorphous silicon can be crystallized by thermal annealing. This so-called solid phase crystallization (SPC) produces poly-crystalline silicon with grain sizes of a few microns. Because of the low temperatures SPC is a promising low-cost process for producing high efficiency thin-film solar cells.
