Methoden und Instrumentierung der Forschung mit Synchrotronstrahlung
Our institute contributes with innovative Synchrotron and X-ray methods to the central scientific questions at HZB and enables the synchrotron radiation research of the users community. We develop and utilize the full bandwidth of innovative X-ray and synchrotorn methods at the HZB storage ring BESSY II and also develop novel methods at complementary facilities to prepare for the future ERL radiation source at HZB. Key methods are spectroscopy, ultrafast methods and scattering at the frontiers of energy, momentum and time resolution. Our in-house-research has the central theme of electronic structure and structural dynamics where we capture how electronic, magnetic, chemical and structural properties are governed by interaction on the atomic scale.
