Young Investigator Group NanooptiX

The Young Investigator Group „NanooptiX“ researches nanooptical concepts for Chalcopyrite solar cells. The Chalcoyprite Cu(In,Ga)Se2 is the material which gives the highest efficiency of any polycrystalline thin-film solar cell. However, constituents like Indium are rare and expensive elements. The aim is the reduction of the absorber material whilst maintaining or increasing the efficiency. The Young Investigator Group follows this aim by integrating optical concepts on the nano- and the micro-meter scales.
