She/he carries out experiments with external scientists and HZB researchers with X-ray spectroscopy, in particular RIXS for investigation of chemical binding properties in matter. Special emphasis is placed in X-ray absorption and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering using special X-ray transmission cells. She/he develops the existing experiment nmTransmissionNEXAFS further towards a continuous flow operation. She/he is responsible for soft X-ray beamlines and experiments that are offered by G-ISSR in user operation and develops these further.
Qualification:
Phd in a recent research field of soft X-ray spectroscopy with a focus on NEXAFS and RIXS. Experience with the management and support of complex experimental stations in synchrotron user facilities as a postdoc or research assistant, as well as with measurements on liquid samples. Excellent skills in the implementation and interpretation of spectroscopic experiments with soft X-rays, particularly in the area of NEXAFS and RIXS. Excellent skills in the use of advanced analytical tools. Very good language skills in English. The willingness to acquire basic knowledge of German is desirable.
