Deadlines for beamtime applications are March 1st and September 1st

New users are always welcome at HZB. The User Coordination and the HZB instrument scientists will help you with your beamtime application, and all HZB users receive a high level of support during beamtime.

Types of beamtime
Travel & Subsistence
Limited HZB funds are available to assist German users with travel and subsistence expenses.
EU funding for experiments at HZB
HZB is able to offer EU funding for users from EU member states and associated countries.
Russian-German Laboratory
Limited HZB funds are available to assist Russian users with travel and subsistence expenses within the framework of the Russian-German Laboratory at BESSY II.

Call for Proposals
The HZB User Coordination invites the submission of proposals for the next joined proposal round.
Guide for Beamtime Application
A clearly written proposal can greatly enhance that the Scientific Selection Panel will recommend the application for beamteim application.

The Main Proposer on a HZB proposal has specific responsibilities for the experiment.
Preparing Beamtime
