Call for Proposals
The HZB User Coordination is welcoming the submission of proposals for the large scale facilities BESSY II and BER II.
Next round: Beamtime allocation in 2018-II
Submission is closed.
Beamtime applications have to be submitted through the online General Access Tool (GATE).
Users not yet registered in the HZB user database have to do so before being able to apply for beamtime or to be included as a co-proposer.
For guidance in writing a proposal please refer to the Guide for beamtime application.
The HZB Scientific Selection Panel (SSP) assesses the scientific merit of beamtime applications and gives recommendations for beamtime allocation. The decision is based solely on the information given in the proposals and, if applicable, on results, experimental reports and publications related to previous HZB experiments.
The next meeting of the SSP will be in April 2018.
Instruments on schedule
Background checks have to be taken out on any person who wishes to have access to the E-Hall. As the process might take up to 3 months, the HZB User Coordination strongly recommends you to send the required documents well in advance of your arrival.
Since August 2012, the whole BESSY II experimental hall is a radiation safety controlled area.
Please refer to Top-Up radiation safety requirements for more information.
