Accomodation and Subsistence

The infrastructure on the campus is continuously improving. There are possibilites to find accomodation, get a meal and do some shopping on site. However, food supplies at the weekend and in the evenings remain difficult to find. Some place to go in Adlershof and the nearby quarters Köpenick and Treptow can be found here.

Accomodation

Accomodation is available for BESSY II users in the IBZ-guesthouse (Internationales Begegnungszentrum) Berlin-Adlershof. 50 apartments are available for BESSY II users. Booking of these guesthouse  apartments must be made in written form to the BESSY II user office and have to comply with the Rules for Reservations (see box on the right).

The HZB has a discount agreement with

• the Berolina Airport Hotel
• the Dorint Hotel and
• the Airporthotel Berlin-Adlershof

all of them located nearby. Please contact the BESSY II user office for the special rates and booking codes. Note that the Berolina Hotel offers rooms with efficiency kitchen for self-catering.

Meals and Snacks

Several restaurants and bistros are available nearby. However, they usually close sometimes between 15 and 18 h. For late nights or weekends you will find refreshments in vending machines in our cafeteria. You might prefer your own arrangements, ordering a food delivering service or buy some refreshments in a nearby shop (Adlershofer Tor, Rudower Chaussee).
