Travel & Subsistence Support
Limited HZB funds are available to assist with travel and subsistence expenses, whereby users from German universities get preferential treatment. Normally, one scientist per experiment at BER II and two scientists for experiments at BESSY II are supported by HZB.
Groups coming from EU Member States and Associated States may qualify for a travel grant provided by the European Commission. At the moment, HZB is able to offer
• access to BER II within the scope of the NMI3 II project
• access to BESSY II within the scope of the CALIPSO project
• access to MX and XI facilities within the scope of the Biostruct-X project
Furthermore groups from Russia can be supported for access to BESSY II within the framework of the Russian-German Laboratory at BESSY II.
Arrangements for travel support have to be cleared with the HZB User Coordination prior to undertaking the trip by handing in the request for travel reimbursement. In case of acceptance of your application for travel support you will receive a confirmation together with the reimbursement forms.
Each supported participant has to send back the completed reimbursement form together with all original receipts (no copies!), tickets and boarding passes to the HZB User Office.
Please note:
Claims for travel reimbursement will only be processed after the HZB Feedback Form and the HZB Experimental Report for the respective project have been submitted via GATE.
