Joint BER II and BESSY II Users' Meetings
With the series of annual Joint HZB Users' Meetings we want to bring together the two user communities of BESSY II and BER II. Major aims of this series of annual meetings are intensifying the scientific exchange and stimulating new cooperations between these scientific communities.
In the framework of the user platform SYNERGY (SYnchrotron radiation and NEutron Research GatewaY) HZB operates two large scale facilities for investigating the structure and function of matter: the research reactor BER II, for experiments with neutrons, and the electron storage ring BESSY II, producing ultra bright photon beams ranging from the Terahertz regime to hard X-rays.
The meetings will provide an overview of the many exciting and inspiring research results obtained at our facilities in the past year. A key-note lecture, plenary talks, oral sessions, a public lecture and a poster session will provide vast possibilities of information and discussion.
The bestowals of the Prizes for Young Scientists donated by the “Freundeskreis Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin e. V. “ are traditional highlights of the users' meetings.
After hours of inspiring scientific presentations we hope to meet you at the Berliner Buffet for closing the first day of the meeting with an enjoyable evening. The buffet is sponsored by the companies participating in the accompanying vendor exhibition. Besides this generous gesture the exhibitors will be happy to have the opportunity to inform you on the latest developments in all fields of research equipment.
