From S-Bahnhof Berlin-Wannsee
- From “S-Bahnhof Wannsee”, take bus line 318 Direction: “Hahn-Meitner-Platz”. NOTE: Bus line 318 runs every 20 minutes between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM and only every 40 minutes at all other times! This line does not run at all on Saturdays and Sundays.
The alternative is: - From "S-Bahnhof Wannsee", take bus line 118 Direction: "Potsdam Stern-Center" or "Drewitz" until you reach the stop: "Wilhelmplatz".
- From "Wilhelmplatz" to Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie, continue on foot in the same direction the bus was going along Chausseestraße and keep going until you reach its extension Hahn-Meitner-Platz. This takes about 10 minutes on foot.
- The trip takes 10 minutes on bus line 318, while taking bus line 118 and then walking takes around 20 minutes.
By car to Berlin Wannsee
- From the city centre:
From the motorway crossing Funkturm, drive along the motorway Avus A 115 (Direction: "Magdeburg/Leipzig") for approximately 10 km until you reach the exit “Wannsee”. Then head towards Wannsee/Potsdam on Königstraße (B1). After driving straight for 3 km, a sign on the right side of the road points to "Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie", where you have to turn left onto Chausseestraße and its extension Hahn-Meitner-Platz. Total driving time about 30 minutes. - From the Autobahn motorways from Leipzig, Magdeburg, Dresden and Frankfurt/Oder:
From the Berliner Ring A 10 to Autobahn crossing Nuthetal (formerly Drewitz), turn onto the city motorway Avus A 115 (Direction: "Autobahndreieck Funkturm") and keep going until you reach the exit "Wannsee", where you turn towards Wannsee and Potsdam onto Königstraße (B1). After driving straight for 3 km, a sign on the right side of the road points to “Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie”, where you have to turn left onto Chausseestraße and its extension Hahn-Meitner-Platz. - From the Autobah motorway from Hamburg/Rostock and Stralsund/Prenzlau:
On the Berliner Ring A 10 and Autobahn crossing Oranienburger Kreuz A 111, follow the blue Autobahn signs for "Magdeburg/Leipzig" and continue along the city motorway Avus A 115 as you would from the city centre (described above).
