The entire e-mail traffic to the HZB will be sent across servers at DFN, our Internet provider to us at the centre. The DFN provides us this service, which significantly reduces the amount of spam and malware volume (viruses, worms, Trojan horses) in our email. From there the email is fed through a Linux mail cluster (with two servers) to the mailboxes at our MS Exchange 2010 server (with two client access and two mailbox database servers).
You can find e-mail addresses of our users with the person search form.
To access your mailbox, you will have the following alternatives:
- You may use Outlook or an email program with the IMAPS protocol
- You may use a Web browser with Webmail
- You may use a mobile device (cell phone, tablet computer, etc.)
For exchanging large documents or files, please use alternative means such as the web services upload (to make your files available, also password-protected), sendmail (external use is possible) or ownCloud.
