Operating SRF systems reliably in a “dirty” accelerator
Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin will be hosting the workshop "Operating SRF in a "dirty" machine" at the Wilhelm-Conrad-Röntgen-Campus Berlin on September 14th-15th, 2017.
In this workshop we want to explore the challenges of running SRF systems in an accelerator environment that may not meet the stringent requirements for high voltage SRF operation. The aim of the workshop is to gather together the expert community to compile experience with these operating conditions and develop recipes for the reliable operation of high-voltage SRF. Aspects we would like to explore include: cleanliness and vacuum requirements up/downstream of the cavities, long-term performance degradation and mitigation schemes, how to deal with synchrotron radiation, particle transport etc.
The workshop will be a day and a half, with day one comprising of talks and discussions in the morning and the afternoon, and day two comprising of talks and discussion in the morning then a tour of the facilities at HZB in the afternoon. If you are interested in giving a talk please supply a title and abstract to be reviewed by the program committee.
