Proton and oxygen conducting materials

Power generation from advanced fossile power plants aims at new technologies for CO2-emission reduction in parallel increasing the efficiency of energy conversion. This goal can be achieved by introducing gas separation technologies which are associated with significantly lower efficiency losses compared with conventional separation technologies.  Within the Project “Gas separation membranes for CO2-free fossile power plants” proton conducting membranes based on La6WO12 as well as oxygen permeation membranes based on Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ are investigated.
