To achieve the desired energy gain in an accelerator the RF fields of the accelerating TM010 mode need to be precisely controlled in amplitude and phase with respect to the beam’s arrival or injection time.



To fully characterize materials and their function, and perhaps even influence their function, modern synchrotron light sources must enable the determination of matter’s structure and its dynamics.

Superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) systems are the enabling technology for many next-generation, high-gradient accelerator applications, from energy-recovery linacs like BERLinPro to accelerator-driven systems.



The BERLinPro project will utilize a superconducting RF photoinjector (Gun) with a multi-alkali photocathode as the electron source for our 100 mA 50 MeV Energy Recovery Linac (ERL).
