Institute Methods and Instrumentation for Synchrotron Radiation Research

The Institute Seminar

The Institute Seminar is registered as a post-graduate seminar "Science with Synchrotron Methods" at the University of Potsdam supervised by Prof. A. Föhlisch. Simultaneously it is announced with the same title as a post-graduate seminar at the Technical University of Berlin under the guidance of Prof. G. Schiwietz. In-house HZB the seminar is supervised by Dr. T. Kachel. The seminar is understood to update important new information within the Institute members on short-terms. The topics of the seminar talks are based on experimental and theoretical aspects of synchrotron radiation sciences. These range from studies of magnetic materials and their femtosecond dynamics, atomic control of function, dynamics of molecules, the investigation of materials with strong electron correlation, investigation of femtosecond dynamics on surfaces, photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) on liquids, PES at high photon energies, PES at low photon doses (which is important for organic materials), infrared spectroscopy and microscopy as well as Thz investigations on molecular magnets and dynamic THz studies.

The seminar is open to every post-graduate student of the University of Potsdam and the TU Berlin with interest in synchrotron radiation studies. It is held in the lecture hall of the BESSY-II building on the Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen Campus in Adlershof.
