The femtosecond-diffraction chamber scattering chamber was set up in 2008 and has since then been available as experimental station for user operation at the HZB. It was built for time-resolved resonant soft X-ray diffraction measurements at accelerator based X-ray sources providing fs X-ray pulses. The main scientific focus of these measurements is on photo-induced phase transitions in complex materials.
