The interests of the doctoral researchers are represented by their representatives. They are elected for a one-year term.

Annual retreat for doctoral researchers
The 3-day retreat for doctoral researchers takes place once a year. The retreat offers the opportunity to take part in the courses offered by external trainers. In addition, the meeting offers the opportunity to discuss relevant topics and to network.
Annual one day meeting of doctoral researchers
The one-day meeting of the doctoral researchers usually takes place at the end of the year. On the one hand this is the opportunity for a review of the year and on the other hand current issues can be discussed.
Helmholtz Juniors (HeJu) represents the views of some 8,000 (2017) doctoral researchers from the Helmholtz Association's 19 research centres across Germany.
HeJu fosters exchange and networking among peers and provides valuable feedback to managers of the Helmholtz Graduate Schools and Helmholtz Research Schools.
