VITESS 3.0 Release Note ------------------------ Visualization: -------------- A framework for the visualization of the instrument geometry and neutron trajectories has been implemented. Modules produce individual output files in special exececution modes which are gathered in another step and transformed to X3D (3 dimensional virtual reality) or SVG (2D vector graphic) files then, under control of the GUI. Virtual reality scenes may be examined with external viewers then, as 2D graphics may be shown by means of a browser. The framework has been filled for the following modules yet: Source, guide, chopper_disk, space, spacewindow, slit, supermirror ensemble, guide_elliptic and detector and is considered "beta". Pipe import: ------------ Simulation pipes with VITESS modules may be (re-)imported to a GUI representation of the instrument, the input file may be any text file with a line containing the pipe command. The maximal number of modules in the pipe has been extended to 100 now.
