December 2020: HEMF workshop

We kindly invite future HEMF users to join our HEMF workshop to start or intensify a vivid dialogue with us about future science as well as your expectations and requirements for successful experiments at our HEMF facilities.
The HEMF workshop will be held as a satellite workshop of the 12th BESSY@HZB User Meeting in Berlin in December 2020.

More detailed information about the registration process, the scientific programme and the venue will soon be available here.

March 2019: Project Meeting at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie

Our fourth HEMF Project and Steering Committee Meeting took place on March 1st, 2019 at the KIT Campus North in Karlsruhe.
After a warm welcome by the hosting institute each participating center gave an update about the project status and presented one or more projects in detail. Some projects already started with user service and most of the projects are at an advanced stage. There are even some scientific publications resulting from the work on our new HEMF infrastructure.

The meeting was accompanied by a poster exhibition with 27 posters in total, presenting all HEMF projects more detailed.

March 2017: Cornerstone laying ceremony at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin

On March 23, 2017 the first stone for the new energy research laboratory building on the Lise-Meitner Campus in Berlin-Wannsee was laid. It is expected to be completed already in December 2017. Numerous employees and construction partners celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the flexibly usable laboratory complex together with the scientific project manager and HZB management. The new building will host modern laboratories for material synthesis and analytics. This new state-of-the art machine farm is part of the Helmholtz Energy Materials Foundry (HEMF) and will be open to partners from academia and industry.

October 2016: Project Meeting at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin

Our first Project, Steering Committee and User Service Meeting of the new large-scale collaborative research-and-development platform HEMF took place on October 12th, 2016 at the Helmholtz-Zentrum in Berlin-Adlershof. Every participating Helmholtz Centre gave a short introduction of its projects and subprojects, and to discuss these projects in detail we also organised a very instructive poster session. We intend to strengthen our cooperation and will serve the wider scientific community by offering user access, service and support to external academic and industrial partners.

We set the course for the future to make this project successful.
