Radiography and Tomography

The fully shielded X-ray system for radiography provides an environment for a wide range of experimental applications in materials science. Thanks to its modular design, the system can be flexibly adapted to different experimental setups, allowing a wide range of sample environments (atmosphere, pressure, temperature, etc.) to be utilised. It consists of a microfocus X-ray source with a maximum acceleration voltage of 150 kV and an adjustable focus size between 5 and 50 µm. Various detectors up to a size of 120 x 120 mm allow time-resolved image acquisition with magnifications that can be adapted to the sample size. An optional rotation stage setup also offers the possibility of acquiring tomographic volumes in this system.
