On Friday, 10 June 2016, the exhibition "Nature & Politics" by Thomas Struht, one of the internationlly most renowned photographers, opened in Martin-Gropius Bau. (link) Struht studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Bernd and Hilla Becher and is member of the artist group Struffsky. Industrial production plants, research laboratories and operating rooms, but also everyday architecture or theme parks: Thomas Struth’s pictures of the last few years explore how human ambition and imagination become spatial, objective reality. Therefore, Thomas Struth visited different sites on his quest for the picture that fits his conception.

"One of these pictures he found in 2012 at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin", says Prof. Dr. Oliver Rader. In fact, the visitors of the exhibition are welcomed by the large-format ARPES1^2 apparatus by Dr. Andrei Varykhalov.

The exhibition in Martin-Gropius-Bau is open Wed-Mon 10:00 - 19:00 until 18 September. Admission 10 Euro. More...

Further stops will be Atlanta and St. Louis. The picture "Measuring, Helmholtz-Zentrum, Berlin 2012" is being distributed by Max Hetzler gallery, Berlin.
