Inviting external participants

External participants can also be invited to Skype for Business meetings using Internet Explorer.

All you need to do is provide your partner with the meeting URL. You can do this either by scheduling a meeting using Outlook and inviting the persons you want to meet. The invitation e-mail will then contain the link to the meeting.

You can also just start a Skype for Business meeting and share an entry link for this meeting.

Simply click on the options-button (button with three dots) choose “Meeting Entry Info”, copy the link and send it via e-mail or other means.

Attendance at a meeting with Lync Web App

Any participant who has no Skype for Business client installed can join a meeting via Internet Explorer using the meeting URL (as shown above). In order to initiate a meeting, you will still need to have a client installed.

In order to use audio/video features you will need to install a specific Internet Explorer Plug-In. This only needs to be installed the first time you are attending a meeting. Unfortunately, this plug-in is only available with Internet Explorer.
