Communicating with Skype for Business (former Lync)

You are looking for a way to chat with a colleague? Make audio and video calls from PC to PC or conferencing with several colleagues? All these things are possible with Skype for Business.

Skype for Business offers features you may already know from Skype or similar services, but with one crucial difference: The servers are located at HZB. Any communication and transferred data stays within HZB.

In addition to text messages, audio and video telephony, you are also able to share your PC screen or individual windows and make them visible to your communication partner. You can show your colleagues a PowerPoint presentation or hold brainstorming sessions on a whiteboard.

You only need a Windows PC or Mac running a Skype for Business client. This is part of the Microsoft Office package. If you don't have an office package installed, you can download and install the client here (Windows, Mac).

In order to use all of its features you will need speakers and a microphone (or a headset) and possibly a camera. Linux users are currently limited to the chat function only.

The communication with external companies is possible as well.
