The COincidence Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis station is at a plane grating monochromator beamline with a UE-52 undulator. The beamline offers photons in horizontal polarisation from 115-1900 eV and in elliptical polarisation from 115-1390 eV. It has a movable exit slit from fully closed to up to 1000 um.

The CoESCA station is equipped with two Angle-Resolved Time Of Flight spectrometers allowing to measure electron-electron coincidences from solids.  (NOTE: The coincidence mode is still under commisioning and has not yet been tested!)

The endstation has a separated analysis chamber and two preparation chambers, one for "clean" samples (e.g. metals) and one for "dirty" samples (e.g. organics). The preparation chambers are equipped with a sample heating stage, a quartz balance, LEED and a mass spectrometer. The preparation chambers have several free ports for mounting user provided equipment (e.g. evaporators). Furthermore the endstation offers the possiblity for users to mount their own preparation chamber.
