On 29. May 2014, the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry has honored Prof. Dr. Emad Flear Aziz with the Nernst-Haber-Bodenstein-Award. Aziz is leading research teams at HZB and „Freie Universität Berlin“,  where he has built up the Joint Ultrafast Dynamics Lab in Solutions and at Interfaces.

For his very successful research he has already received numerous awards, e.g. an European Starting Grant in 2011. Aziz develops new methods to investigate structures and dynamics of materials in solution and interfaces.

The German Bunsen Society awards the Nernst-Haber-Bodenstein Prize in remembrance of Max Bodenstein, Fritz Haber and Walther Nernst. The award shall distinguish younger scientists (of up to 40 years) for outstanding scientific achievements in the area of physical chemistry. The prize was handed out during the  General Assembly of the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry, which is held from 29 - 31 May 2014 at the Universität Hamburg , Germany, the prize money is 5000 Euro.
