Summer Festival 2025

Dear Colleagues,

We work together all year round. Now we want to celebrate together again. On Friday, the 18th July, between 12:00 and 18:00, the annual HZB Summer Festival will be held once again on the fairgrounds of Lise-Meitner-Campus in Berlin-Wannsee, this year’s theme being "Moving together - 50 years of BSG". All employees and their families, friends of HZB and former colleagues are cordially invited to come and join the fun.

You can expect a small entertainment program with music, children's and sports activities and hopefully stimulating encounters and discussions in an informal atmosphere.

As every year, the entrance is free and there will be food and drinks at adequate prices from our canteen.


Program:

12:00 (noon)
 Admission with DJ music
13:00 p.m.
 Managements welcome speech
2 - 4 p.m. Experiments with the school lab
until 6 p.m.

Various sports activities, DJ music and delicious food and drinks.

For children: glitter tattoos, creative hair braiding, painting and monster crafting.

HZB’s sports club (the Betriebssportgemeinschaft, BSG) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, there will be some small fun tournaments this year, a run around the HZB grounds and yoga and back fitness taster courses. Please register for the individual activities at betriebssportgemeinschaft@helmholtz-berlin.de and don't forget your sports kit. Our thanks to the BSG.

  • A run around the site - whether it's an ambitious (fast) run, a walk or a stroll with colleagues, join us!
    • Approx. 5 km, start at 14.30 at the gate

  • Football fun tournament - Find 4 - 6 players - 15 min. in a knockout system
    • 2 p.m. on the football pitch (large meadow to the right behind the gate)

  • Badminton fun tournament - doubles, possibly substitutes - short knockout game
    • 2.00 pm next to the football pitch (large meadow to the right behind the gate)

  • Beach volleyball fun tournament - Finds 2 - 4 players - short point game in knockout system
    •  2 p.m. Beach volleyball court (large meadow to the right behind the gate behind the football pitch)

  • Table tennis tables on the meadow between the GE and KI buildings - free play

  • 2 back fitness taster courses - instruction by Konrad - location: quiet corner on the festival meadow. Indoor in case of bad weather.
    • 15.00 - 15.30
    • 2nd course flexible (please listen to the announcements on the meadow)

  • 3 yoga taster courses - led by kalayoga Berlin (Alexandra Ehrhardt) - location: quiet corner on the festival meadow. In case of bad weather in H132.
    • 15.30 – 15.45
    • 16.00 – 16.15
    • 16.30 – 16.45

There will once again be a shuttle service from Adlershof WCRC (departure 11:00)/PVcomB (departure 11:15) to Wannsee. So that we can plan this better, we ask you to please reserve shuttle seats as well, with the link below.


Getting home by public transport:

It’s best if you take the 318 bus line (until 19:44) from Hahn-Meitner-Platz or the 118 bus line from Wilhelmplatz to get to S-Bahn station Wannsee.
