Venue

The scientific kick-off workshop and the summer school will take place at Potsdam University, Campus I - Am Neuen Palais, building 8. The walk from the railway station "Park Sanssouci" (10 minutes) as well as from the close bus stop (Neues Palais) will be signposted. As scientific exchange and networking is one of the main goals of the virtual institute as well the kick-off workshop accommodation for all participants is organized in a single hotel nearby. The conference hotel is the "Steigenberberger Hotel Sanssouci Potsdam" located between the famous park Sanssouci and the Luise sqare with Potsdam's Brandenburg gate. From the main train station it is a 10 minute ride best by city train No 91 (every 20 minutes, direct at the main entrance of the main station) or by bus No 605 and No 606.
