Travel to Dresden
Shuttle Bus to Dresden (and back)
On Wednesday 16-SEP-2009 a free bus transfer is offered at 16:00 from Berlin-Tegel airport (TXL) and 17:00 from Berlin-Schönefeld airport (SXF) to take registrants to the Dresden hotels. Please indicate on your registration if you require transportation to Rossendorf.
The bus (white, run by the company "Kreisel") will carry a display panel with the SRF 09 logo showing the tutorials in Dresden as final destination.
Please check the maps below for the locations where the buses will stop. Photographs of these locations can also be viewed on the SRF2009 Google Map for Tegel and the SRF2009 Google Map for Schönefeld.
Please note: Make sure you are on time, as (having to clear the busstop) the bus will leave at 16:00 from Berlin Tegel airport and at 17:00 from Berlin Schönefeld airport.

Shuttle busses from the hotels in Rossendorf back to the conference venue in Berlin will be arranged on 20-SEP-2009 at 11:00 (A.M.).
Travel to Dresden by Train

Choose Berlin Hauptbahnhof, and as destination Dresden Hauptbahnhof.
From Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) to Dresden Hotels:
From Berlin Tegel Airport take the BVG bus "TXL" in the direction of Mollstraße / Prenzlauer Allee. (You will need a ticket - Einzelfahrschein AB - for that bus ride, the current rate is 2,10 Euro. Tickets can be bought on the bus or at the ticket machine at the bus station.) Get off the bus at Berlin Central Railway Station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof). This should take you about 20 minutes. From there, take any train to or via Dresden Central Railway Station (Dresden Hauptbahnhof). Tickets will cost beetween 20 and 60 Euros.
to IBIS Hotels:
The three IBIS Hotels are located in the city centre - just a few minutes walk from central railway station, right in the pedestrian zone Prager Straße.
to A&O Hotel:
Take the main exit to Bayerische Straße and turn left. Pass under the bridge. The Strehlener Straße starts immediately after the crossroad. Alternatively by bus just 2 stops away: Take line 72 (direction Luga) or line 76 (direction Lockwitz) to Uhlandstraße. The A&O HOTEL and HOSTEL is located right at the bus stop.
to Holiday Inn:
From central railway station take the tram line 7 in the direction of Weixdorf and get off at Stauffenbergallee.
From Berlin Schönefeld Airport to Dresden Hotels:

Berlin Schönefeld Airport Railway Station (Berlin Schönefeld Flughafen). Trains to Dresden Central Railway Station depart about every half hour, but you may have to change trains once or twice.

Take the S-Bahn S2 to central railway station (Dresden Hauptbahnhof). The current rate is 1,80 Euro. The three IBIS Hotels are located in the city centre - just a few minutes walk from central railway station, right in the pedestrian zone Prager Straße.
to A&O Hotel:
Take the S-Bahn S2 to central railway station, there transfer to bus line 76 (direction Lockwitz) or line 72 (direction Luga) and get off at Uhlandstraße. The A&O Hotel is located right at the bus stop.
to Holiday Inn:
Take the bus line 77 towards Dresden Klotzsche / Infineon, at Karl-Marx-Straße, change to tram 7 heading to Pennrich / Gleisschleife and get off at Stauffenbergallee.

Travel by Car
From Berlin Schönefeld Airport to Dresden Hotels
From Berlin Schönefeld Airport follow the signs to highway A13 to Ragow/Cottbus/Dresden. After 60 km pass the three-leg interchange Spreewald (exit no. 10), remaining on A13 towards Dresden/Chemnitz. Follow the highway for about 90 km, at the three-leg Dresden Nord move on to highway A4 into the direction of Leipzig/Dresden /Chemnitz.
to IBIS-Hotels:
Exit Dresden Hellerau, travel approx. 6 km towards the centre to Dresden Neustadt station, turn right straight after the railway bridge and follow the railway embankment (direction: Prager Straße), cross the river Elbe and stay on this street for another 3.5 km. Nearing central railway station, remain in the right lane to avoid the underpass. Drive across the underpass to get into Reitbahnstraße. There you’ll find a public parking-lot. (Navigation system: Reitbahnstraße)
to A&O Hotel:
Exit Dresden Hellerau, turn right and follow the Radeburger Strasse (later becomes Hansastrasse). After 4,5 km keep right, at the end turn left into Grosse Meissner Strasse (becomes Koepkestrasse). Turn right and drive across the bridge (Carolabrücke) into St. Petersburger Strasse, after about 2 km, just after central railway station, turn left into Strehlener Strasse (Navigation system: Strehlener Strasse)
to Holiday Inn:
Exit “Dresden Hellerau” and follow the signs to Dresden-Zentrum. After about 1,5 km turn left into Stauffenbergallee at the ARAL gas station, after about 1,5 km turn right into the Holiday Inn parking lot (Navigation system: Stauffenbergallee).
