Long Night of Science 2025

Welcome!

In 2025, we will once again be opening our doors for the Long Night of Science. Visit us on 28 June 2025, 5 p.m. to midnight, at our campus in Berlin-Adlershof.  Embark on an exciting journey through modern photovoltaics research with many information stands and interesting presentations on stage.

For example, our solar cell research institutes in Kekuléstrasse will be presenting exciting science and very practical information.

Look forward to an exciting programme! Here you can find our programme for the Long Night of Science at BESSY II and in Kekuléstraße.

Perovskite solar cells from Germany are competing with China's PV technology - HZB 2025 Technology Transfer Award
Photovoltaics is the leading technology in the transition to clean energy. However, traditional silicon-based solar technology has reached its efficiency limit. Therefore, a HZB-team has developed a perovskite-based multi-junction cell architecture. For this, Kevin J. Prince and Siddhartha Garud received the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin's (HZB) Technology Transfer Prize of 5,000 euros.
