The Scientific Board of the HZB Graduate Center starts to operate

The HZB has a new committee: The Scientific Board of the HZB Graduate Center, in short: SciBo, is responsible for all topics concerning the supervision and promotion of doctoral researchers at HZB.

"Doctoral researchers and their good supervision make a major contribution to the success of the HZB", emphasized the scientific director Prof. Dr. Rech at the founding meeting of the SciBo on February 10th, 2021. He thus thanked all members of the new committee for their commitment. The SciBo will make a decisive contribution to ensuring that doctorates at the HZB can be carried out under excellent and attractive conditions also in the future, continued Rech.

The SciBo will give impulses for the further development of the scientific orientation of the promotion of doctoral researchers at the HZB: accompany the continuous further development of the graduate center along with current developments in the field of the promotion of early career researchers with suggestions and participate in the planning of the scientific training and event program. In addition, the SciBo comes into play if conflicts or problems in the context of the HZB doctoral guidelines cannot be resolved in the Graduate Center: it advises and, if necessary, decides on measures to find a solution.

Every scientific area of the HZB is represented in the SciBo, as well as the representation of the doctoral researchers (the DocTeam) and the HZB Graduate Center itself. The current members can be found on the SciBo website. The SciBo can be reached via the SciBo speaker or the HZB Graduate Center.
