BESSY@HZB User Meeting
With the series of annual user meetings we bring together our user community to intensify scientific exchange and stimulating new collaborations. The meetings will provide an overview of the many exciting and inspiring research results obtained at our facility in the past year. A keynote lecture, plenary talks, discussions, a public lecture and a poster session will provide vast possibilities of information and discussion. The bestowals of the 'Prizes for Young Scientists' donated by the Freundeskreis Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin e.V. (FHZB) are traditional highlights of the user meetings.
This years' BESSY@HZB User Meeting will take place online on Thursday, December 8.
Participation in the BESSY@HZB User Meeting is free of charge.
An important part of our user meeting is the vendor exhibition, which is running alongside the meeting. We provide your organisation with the great opportunity to present your products to a large number of high impact customers. Each year we expect some 450 participants; surely a significant number for presenting your company, and a good chance to get in contact with new customers using synchrotron radiation and performing experiments at BESSY II. For more detailed information on how to join the vendor exhibtion please go to the vendor exhibition webpage.
Poster Session & Poster Slam
The poster session - an important and integral part of the user meeting - is an excellent opportunity to present and discuss your latest research results.
This years’ virtual poster session will be accompanied by an online poster slam and will take place on Thursday afternoon. If you are interested in participating in the poster slam or would like to present a poster, please indicate your request in the registration form and register your poster presentation according to one of the following scientific categories:
- Life Science & Health
- Information Technology
- Matter & Material
- Energy Storage
- Energy Conversion
As the number of posters and time slots for poster slam are limited, posters and time slots will be considered on a first come first serve basis. Apart from that, all poster presenters must be available online for the entire duration of this session. To give interested users the opportunity to contact you, we would like to ask you to provide your contact data on your poster.
Format of your poster:
- only one slide
- 16:9 landscape/horizontal
- font size >14
- PDF export from PowerPoint or jpg (no video, no animation)
- Poster template ( PPT-download)
The same poster will be used for the presentation and the poster slam and it will not be possible to zoom in, so keep it short and simple (How to make a Poster).
