HZB User Office

The HZB User Office provides assistance and administrative support in all issues related to the use of the HZB User Facilities. This includes:

  • registration in GATE
  • submitting a beamtime application
  • organizing the stay at HZB (HZB Badge)
  • safety and access regulations
  • accommodation
  • travel and subsistence

The reception desk of the HZB User Office is located on the 1st floor of the BESSY II main building next to the cafeteria and the office hours are:

Monday - Thursday 9:00-11:30 and 12:30-15:30
Friday 9:00-11:30 and 12:30-14:30

Users are required to check in at the HZB User Office prior to any activity at HZB.

Please organize your stay with HZB well in advance. Clearance procedures and security checks might take up to 3 months. Please pay attention to the safety & access regulation pages.

Users arriving during weekends or after working hours are requested to contact the HZB User Office prior to their arrival in order to arrange for temporary access to the facility.
