Call for “Helmholtz young investigator groups”: apply now!

We are looking for young excellent scientists looking for leadership! Do you want to perform an innovative research project in one of HZB's research fields? Then apply by 28.02.2022!

Our offers:

  • early scientific independence for excellent postdoctoral researchers
  • funding of a least 300 000 € p.a. for five years to lead a research group
  • at least a permanent position in case of a positive midterm evaluation
  • professional skills training by the Helmholtz Management Academy
  • close collaboration with a university

Apply if you have the following qualifications:

  • academic age: between 2 and 6 years after your doctorate
  • international research experience
  • an exceptional scientific record
  • an innovative research project in one of the research field of the HZB
  • strong motivation to set up and lead your own research group

    Humboldt-Fellow at HZB: Kayode Adesina Adegoke
    Kayode Adesina Adegoke is a renowned chemist, affiliated with LAUTECH SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities Research Group), Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He is collaborating with Matthew Mayer, head of the "Electrochemical Conversion group", to investigate the degradation of electrocatalysts during electrochemical CO₂ reduction. The Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship enables him to stay at Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin up to 24 months.

    Humboldt-Fellow at HZB: Alexander R. Uhl
    Alexander R. Uhl, UBC Okanagan School of Engineering in Kelowna, Canada, aims to develop with Roel van de Krol from the HZB Institute for Solar Fuels an efficient and inexpensive photoelectrolyser for producing hydrogen using sunlight. His stay is being funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
