In our sample preparation laboratory, we can prepare any material systems from different research areas for scanning or transmission electron microscopy investigations. There are a variety of devices and specially made tools (also self-made) available.

In our Crystal Labs, we synthesize single crystals of novel low-dimensional magnetic materials.
Processing & production of optical components
Manufacture of diffraction gratings for scientific applications. The focus is on monochromator gratings for beam tubes and gratings for spectrometers in the soft X-ray range.
HZB has the technical infrastructure to manufacture reflection gratings with both sawtooth profiles (known as blaze angle gratings) and rectangular profiles (known as laminar gratings).
