What we offer at HZB

You are welcome to apply, if you have the following qualifications:
- academic age: between 2 and 6 years after your doctorate
- international research experience
- an exceptional scientific record
- an innovative research project in one of HZB's research fields
- strong motivation to set up and lead your own research group

- Advanced beam dynamics for 4th generation light sources: combining beam separation schemes with longitudinal phase space shaping

- Helmholtz Investigator Group on magnonsDr Hebatalla Elnaggar is setting up a new Helmholtz Investigator Group at HZB. At BESSY II, the materials scientist will investigate so-called magnons in magnetic perovskite thin films. The aim is to lay the foundations for future terahertz magnon technology: magnonic devices operating in the terahertz range could process data using a fraction of the energy required by the most advanced semiconductor devices, and at speeds up to a thousand times faster.
