This day recognises the crucial role women play in science and technology and highlights the ongoing need for gender equality in STEM subjects for future generations. At an event at HZB, we want to discuss together what we can do in concrete terms.

You are warmly invited to join us at HZB on 11 February to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The programme will take place in English from 10 to 14:30 in the BESSY II lecture hall and foyer. You can also participate online (you will find the Zoom link on the registration page).

Leading scientists Dr Shelly Conroy (Imperial College London, Great Britain) and Professor Franziska Emmerling (Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing and Humboldt University of Berlin, Berlin) will be guests at HZB, along with many other key figures from HZB.

We look forward to working with you to find ways in which each and every one of us can support the next generation of female scientists and innovators.

More information about the programme and registration can be found here.
