Abstract:
The magnetic structure of GdFeO3-type orthorhombically distorted PrMn0.6Fe0.4O3 compound was determined using the neutron powder diffraction experiment. The compound orders into the (G, 0, 0) antiferromagnetic structure and with magnetic propagation vector k = (0, 0, 0) in the temperature range ( 170 K) K. Below 35 K the magnetic structure changes to canted antiferromagnetic, with k = (0, 0, 0) and with magnetic moments aligned into (0, , ) pattern. Around 35 K there is a possibility of existence of short range magnetic correlations which are connected with rotation of magnetic moment from to and with appearing of ferromagnetic component along the -axis.
