The LiquidJet PES apparatus is a specialized end-station for studying electronic structure of liquid water and aqueous solutions with soft X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. Liquid samples are injected into the main interaction chamber via a 10-20 micrometer mircojet, forming free liquid surface in vacuum. One 1500 l/s turbo pump and several LN2-traps keep the pressure on a moderate level under operation conditions. Electrons are detected by a robust and compact SPECS EA10 hemispherical analyzer with a 100-200μm skimmer orifice, acting as a pressure barrier between main chamber and EA.
