Berlin Energy Days: Integrated photovoltaics - active areas for the energy transition
The energy transition needs photovoltaics, and photovoltaics need space. There are large areas that have hardly been used so far: For example, solar cells can be integrated into the shell of buildings and vehicles, or installed in traffic routes, over farmland and flooded opencast mines. On Wednesday, 28 April 2021, experts from the HZB consulting office for builiding integrated PV (BAIP) and other research institutions will present these options. The event will take place as part of the Berlin Energy Days, and participation is free of charge after registration.
"An impressive 959 registrations were received just one week before the event," says HZB physicist Dr Björn Rau, who will moderate the event. Rau heads the HZB consulting Office for Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BAIP), which offers advanced training in the design and use of PV in architecture. Thorsten Kühn, architect and BAIP employee, will present innovative solutions for the design of buildings with photovoltaic elements. Experts from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, Jülich Research Centre, Architecture and the BSW - German Solar Industry Association will also be taking part.
Tip: Please register quickly, the maximum number of participants is limited to 1000.

About the Berlin Energy Days
The ENERGIETAGE in Berlin have been the leading event for energy transition and climate protection in Germany since 2000. Every year, between 50 and 60 individual congresses, conferences and workshops take place under the umbrella of the large-scale congress. These are organised by various institutions from the energy, building, housing, climate protection and environment sectors. The co-organisers of the ENERGIETAGE include several federal ministries, numerous umbrella, federal and environmental associations from relevant sectors, energy service providers and companies, scientific institutions, public institutions and other institutions that help shape the discourse on the energy transition and climate protection in Germany and at EU level. Every year, more than 200 hours of conference programme with over 300 speakers come together in this way.
