Research Interests

My current research concerns the beam dynamics and diagnostics of particle accelerators. In particular the beam physics and the role of accelerator component design of Superconducting radio-frequency photoelectron injectors (SRF photoinjectors). This includes control of photoemission figures of merit by photocathode growth, instrumentation for high brightness electron beams and applications like free electron lasers and ultrafast scattering sources. I am also intersted in all other aspects and future trends of accelerator driven lightsources.

My activities include promoting accelerator physics education, through teaching of accelerator physics at BSc and MSc level, development of hands-on experiments for practical courses, and supervision of BSc, MSc and doctoral researchers.
