Neutron small-angle techniques

In a group of three neutron scattering instruments operated by the staff of the Institute of Soft Mater and Functional Materials we perform in-house research of electrochemical compounds, e.g. storage materials for Lithium-Sulfur batteries, either free or in in-operando cells and vapor adsorption environments. The corresponding small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) instruments as well as the neutron reflectometer (NR) are offered in the user service underneath the user platform, V16 (SANS) and V6 (NR). We only apply in-house research on our constant wavelength SANS (V4), but still accept trained external users. In addition to these state-of-the-art neutron instruments a number of user labs are bookable for complementary work, e.g. light scattering, rheometry, colloid chemistry, etc.
